Keolis Downer Northern Beaches are continuing the long-held tradition of Christmas bus joy on the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore.

As the new operator of bus service in Region 8, Keolis Downer Northern Beaches (KDNB) will also take the reins to engage with local schools to decorate 3 Christmas buses with cheer for the festive season.

This week, public schools from Neutral Bay, Manly West and Mona Vale worked with the 3 Depot teams from Neutral Bay, Brookvale and Mona Vale to hang baubles, wrap tinsel and have some good old fashioned Christmas fun!

The staff at Manly West Public School said, “After a tough year, we welcomed the opportunity to give our students a special treat and opportunity to bring joy to the community.

“They had such fun and will enjoy showing their families their festive creations when they catch the bus this Christmas season.”

Mark Dunlop, Managing Director of Keolis Downer Northern Beaches adds, “As the new operator in the region, these seasonal events are an important part of our annual calendar and give us chance to spark some extra joy in our passengers.

“Drivers are our customer facing frontline, transporting our customers day to day. The Christmas buses add that little bit of personality to our everyday services.”

With the introduction of several Customer Service Officers to engage with passengers, students and the greater community, KDNB will maximise on opportunities to interact with communities and share the company’s ethos of Think Like a Passenger.

From Saturday 11 December 2021, decorated Christmas buses will be travelling on the Region 8 network, from Palm Beach in the Northern Beaches, through the Lower North Shore to Sydney’s CBD.

With extra effort to safely secure all decorations and conduct daily safety compliance audits, all buses are regularly cleaned and sanitised to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.

With over 400 vehicles in the fleet, Keolis Downer Northern Beaches services the 31 million+ passenger trips each year on the local bus network.
