What kind of person does it take to drive a ten-tonne + vehicle?

What happens at the bus depot in between shifts?

Who’s getting their hands dirty in the mechanic’s pits?

Is there a secret operations room where all the magic happens?

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches is hosting a Community Open Day, on Saturday 20th May from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Everyone is welcome to visit the team at Brookvale Depot to see what happens behind the scenes of a complex public transport operation.

Join in the day’s celebrations with a tour of the depot and maintenance workshop, meet some of our drivers, enjoy a free coffee and take home some promotional gear.

Partnering with our friends at Sydney Bus Museum, on display will be some of our local historic fleet including the 1948 Albion Venturer, the 1970 Leyland Atlantean and the recently restored 1981 Mercedes-Benz 0305G, alongside our flagship B-Line and Custom Denning Element 2 Zero Emission Bus – the way of our future!

Come and join us for a day of fun, some great photo opportunities and a passenger ride on one of our vintage buses in service on the local network.

Mark Dunlop, General Manager of Keolis Downer Northern beaches says, “This is an opportunity to acknowledge the hard work our staff put in to keep public transport moving, whilst providing transparency on some of the challenges, like driver shortages facing the industry.

We want to showcase to the local community the complexity and innovative technologies we are using to improve public transport for the area.”
