About Keolis Downer

Keolis Downer commenced operations of bus services on the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore in October 2021.

In addition to operating public bus services for Transport for NSW, Keolis Downer operates Keoride On Demand, which has been servicing customers in the northern part of the peninsula since 2017.

Created in 2009 to partner the expertise of the Keolis and Downer groups, Keolis Downer is headquartered in Sydney and employs over 5000 staff nationally with 25 sites across the country.

We provide transport services to people around Australia, including in Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional South Australia.

As the largest multi-modal transport operator in Australia, Keolis Downer has a long-term commitment to Australia and New Zealand and aspires to be the partner of choice for public transport authorities by delivering on our commitment to ‘think like a passenger’.

About Keolis Downer Northern Beaches & Lower North Shore

Keolis Downer was awarded an eight-year contract in May 2021 by Transport for New South Wales to operate and maintain bus services in the Northern Beaches and the Lower North Shore from 31 October 2021 to October 2029.

Keolis Downer works closely with Transport for NSW to deliver a range of initiatives to further enhance the journey experience of customers, across all aspects of the service.

The contract will see the introduction of 125 electric buses over the next eight years, delivering more sustainable transport options for the local community from two newly electrified depots in Brookvale and Mona Vale.

Keolis Downer is introducing innovative headway technology to further increase the reliability and quality of service of the successful B-Line.

The popular On Demand transport service known as Keoride remains a permanent part of the network.

Accreditation

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services, prioritises the safety of our customers and employees above all else.

As a commitment to continuous improvement, Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services, is undertaking a review of the Business Management System, our integrated management system for health, safety, quality, and environment against the following International Standards Organisation (ISO) management standards:

  • ISO9001 Quality Management System
  • ISO14001 Environmental Management System
  • ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
  • ISO55001 Asset Management System

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services will work toward achieving certification against each standard to ensure international benchmarking against best practice is achieved.

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services is accredited against the following:

  • Bus Operator Accreditation Scheme (BOAS)
  • Advanced Fatigue Management

Our fleet

Our fleet of over 400 vehicles is clean, modern and equipped with comforts including powerful air conditioning, tinted windows and plush seating.

All our vehicles are routinely checked internally and externally for safety assurance and reliability.

All our vehicles have on board CCTV to ensure our passengers’ safety, plus our in-built GPS technology for additional peace of mind.

Most importantly, our entire fleet is wheelchair accessible.
