Keolis Downer is Australia’s largest private provider of multi-modal public transport, with a presence in five states, and delivering 250 million passenger trips each year. It is the proud operator of the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore bus services.

Established in 2009, Keolis Downer is a joint venture between Keolis, a world leading public transport provider with operations in 16 countries, and Downer, a leader in engineering and infrastructure management in Australia and New Zealand.

Keolis Downer operates the light rail network G:link on the Gold Coast, the Adelaide Metro train services, the largest tram network in the world (Yarra Trams in Melbourne), and approximately 1,000 buses in NSW, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland.

Keolis Downer employs 4,900 staff across Australia, with 1,600 in our bus operations alone.

About Keolis Downer Northern Beaches & Lower North Shore

Keolis Downer was awarded an eight-year contract in May 2021 by Transport for New South Wales to operate and maintain bus services in the Northern Beaches and the Lower North Shore from 31 October 2021 to October 2029.

Keolis Downer will work closely with Transport for NSW to deliver a range of initiatives to further enhance the journey experience of customers, across all aspects of the service.

The contract will see the introduction of 125 electric buses over the next eight years, delivering more sustainable transport options for the local community from two newly electrified depots in Brookvale and Mona Vale.

Keolis Downer will also introduce innovative headway technology to further increase the reliability and quality of service of the successful B-Line.

The popular On Demand transport service known as Keoride will also become a permanent part of the network.

Accreditation

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services, prioritises the safety of our customers and employees above all else.

As a commitment to continuous improvement, Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services, is undertaking a review of the Business Management System, our integrated management system for health, safety, quality, and environment against the following International Standards Organisation (ISO) management standards:

  • ISO14001 Environmental Management System
  • ISO45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System
  • ISO55001 Asset Management System

Keolis Downer Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore Bus Services will work toward achieving certification against each standard to ensure international benchmarking against best practice is achieved.

Our fleet

Our fleet of over 400 vehicles is clean, modern and equipped with comforts including powerful air conditioning, tinted windows and plush seating.

All our vehicles are routinely checked internally and externally for safety assurance and reliability.

All our vehicles have on board CCTV to ensure our passengers’ safety, plus our in-built GPS technology for additional peace of mind.

Most importantly, our entire fleet is wheelchair accessible.
